Light Emitting Diode products are two-lead semi-conductor light sources that, through certain engineering, release energy in the form of photons. Their benefits are obvious: they use less energy, last much longer, and don’t give off as much heat compared to their incandescent and fluorescent counterparts.

Efficiency: Compared to conventional incandescent lamps, LED lighting lasts longer. LED lights are more durable and more than five times more efficient.

Brightness: LED lighting isn’t measured in the same way as conventional incandescent lamps. Whereas more traditional lighting methods are measured in watts, LEDs are measured in lumens – worth taking into account if you are considering both types of illumination.

Cost: Generally speaking, LED lighting fixtures are likely to have a more expensive upfront cost, but these lights will have a greater lifespan than more traditional lighting methods, so may prove more valuable in the long run.

Design: LEDs are more compact than more traditional bulbs, which makes them ultra flexible in lighting design. As a result, LED lights might be available in shapes, silhouettes, and technologies that simply haven’t been possible with more traditional illumination methods.
Slow failure: Unlike more traditional lighting methods, which burn out abruptly, LEDs slowly dim over time at the end of their lifespan. As this happens, LEDs offer a warm dim which not only lowers the light output, but also the colour temperature.
