The Light

Inspired by the tranquil and mesmerizing light refractions created by water, Mizu is a customizable pendant light with a difference. Like water droplets, no two of these fixtures are the same. Each crystal shame is unique and made meticulously by hand. This is done using only the clearest of crystal.

Mizu is made to perfectly emulate the water’s refraction of light. This design casts amazing patterns around a room, the play of light and shadow offering illumination that’s reminiscent of the flowing water that inspired the fixture’s very sculpture.

The Project

Located in Denver’s downtown social district, The Marriot City Center Hotel is a large, modern glass structure. The designers drew inspiration for the design from Denver’s rich heritage, founded on the mining industry, while keeping in mind the sleek architecture and relaxed attitude of Denver’s visitors. Terzani’s Mizu design takes pride of place in the establishment’s lobby.

Mizu lights were added to the hotel to “draw attention to the hotel.” This is something the establishment say they manage to “not only accomplish that goal, but are the perfect choice for our story.” It’s a compliment that rings true for a lot of Terzani’s designs.

“Each crystal shape is so unique and casts the perfect play of light,” the establishment continue. “The new interior design includes subtle elements that might be found in mining. The Mizu pendants fit the bill perfectly.”
