In partnership with the Institution Of Lighting Professionals alongside the Society Of Light And Lighting, the Lighting Design Awards is an established calendar highlight for luxury lighting professionals across the UK. Attended by nearing 1000 people each year, the ceremony is a celebration of the boldest and most innovative work across the lighting industry for everyone from designers, through manufacturers, to clients.
For 2017, it has been announced that a leading international figure in architecture and urban design has been named as the keynote speaker for the event, taking place on 4th May. That leading international figure is Deniel Libeskind.
With a series of notable projects to his name that include the Jewish Museum in Berlin, the Imperial War Museum North in Manchester, and the masterplanning of the rebuilding of the World Trade Center in New York, Deniel Libeskind is lauded at an international level.
An architect, artists, professor, and set designer, Daniel Libeskind’s works exploit light in a surprisingly different number of ways. For him, light is the most paramount of building materials. The shape of everything his creates is often dictated by light.
With so much experience and acclaim, he is the perfect keynote speaker for the Lighting Design Awards. This is a ceremony that takes place each year, celebrating and awarding the most innovative lighting solutions on the market. As the industry pioneers ever forwards, this ceremony gives a firm opportunity to see and seize where it is heading.
