News Flash: Swarovski's New Crystal Cuts

Posted on June 01 2017

Trend forecasting is about observing what is happening now in order to decode tomorrow. Long-lived brands become as such due to their ability to predict and understand what their audience wants before they know they want it. Swarovski Lighting is one such brand.

Their trend experts are masters of the art who skillfully set the course for developing the crystal cuts of the future. In tune with the zeitgeist, in the latest range of crystal cuts sustainability underpins innovation. Sustainability has, in fact, been a founding principle of the Swarovski business since 1895. As such, it's fitting that the latest innovations in crystal cuts are presented under the title The Nature Of Us.

Soul Food (Classic)’s down-to-earth, gender-neutral aesthetic can be seen in the Oval Rivoli Fancy Stone, while the Framed Cabachon suits today’s relaxed shapes and mixed materials. New Crystal Shiny Lacquer PRO colors emphasize the aesthetic, including Crystal Ivory Cream and Crystal Dark Red, complemented by Crystal Iridescent Red Pearl.

Work Life (Progressive) notes the arrival of robotics in the workplace, the hard edges are humanized with soft pastels and fun crystal decoration characterized by the Combination Triangle Family’s Alpha, Beta and Gamma Flat Backs. The new Crystal Shiny LacquerPRO effect, Crystal Dark Grey, is well suited to these contemporary designs.

Travel Age (Romantic) feeds the desire to explore new countries and cultures. These global references stimulate a new design ethos, captured in Céline Cousteau’s Tribute to Tribe collection: Her tribal-inspired Oval Tribe Fancy Stone, Rhombus Tribe Fancy Stone and Cross Tribe Pendant reflect a multicultural, sustainable future, supported by Swarovski in Crystal Royal Green from the Crystal Shiny LacquerPRO range.

Party Spirit (Glamour) is all about young, rebellious design statements. A nod to the festival culture can be seen in looks borrowed from past music legends trimmed with leather, chains, beads and crystals. The Kite Fancy Stone and glam-rock Female and Male Symbol Fancy Stones sum up this attitude, with the new metallic Crystal Rainbow Dark effect entirely in tune with this edgy, “non-gender” glamour.
